Each year, members work on projects, participate in
workshops and competitions, and find ways to help the club prosper.
We've set up a system of point which, at year's end, are used to hand
out the President's Merit Awards. Although largely at the discression
of the president, points awarded for club related efforts are generally
given as follows. These are only a guideline!
| Activity | Points |
| Volunteering to bring food for a meeting | 1 |
| Taking on a small job at the request of a club officer | 5 |
| Taking on a major role (technical chair, newsletter, multiscreen rep, NECCC rep, etc.) | 25 |
| Doing a monthly, full scale lecture or program (roughly 45 minutes long) | 50 |
| Doing a monthly, minor lecture or program (roughly 5-15 minutes long) | 25 |
| Vacation program (September) or Holiday program (December) | 5 |
| Leading a field trip | 10 |
| Multiscreen 1st place | 5 |
| Having a slide selected for Multiscreen | 1 |
| Having a slide selected for NECCC Pictorial or Nature | 5 |
| Print/Slide/Snapshot Red Ribbon | 1 |
| Print/Slide/Snapshot Blue Ribbon | 3 |
Other points can be awarded at the discresion of the
club president based on suggestions by members. One exception exists,
however. Club officers are not awarded points for simply being club
officers. If club members feel that any of the club officers deserve
special recognition, there are other methods for doing this, including
simply making a motion at the club's last meeting that the person be so
recognized by a congratulatory applaus.
